The Type Approval for Parts (TTG) is a new, harmonized certification for vehicle components within the EU. Starting on June 20, 2025, it will replace the previous component type approvals and general operating permits. A TTG confirms that the product meets all legal requirements regarding safety and environmental compatibility. With a valid TTG, the vehicle part can be used and marketed throughout the EU without any additional national approval.
Technical Notice: The supplied Type Approval (TTG) applies exclusively to installation on a factory-standard, unmodified vehicle. When used in combination with additional accessories or aftermarket components, the TTG becomes invalid. In this case, a TÜV inspection or individual approval is required—even if a TTG exists—to ensure the product is legally approved for road use.
